You nominated spaces, the judges deliberated, and eight spaces - and for the first time, two communities - emerged as winners of the 2007 Cool Space Awards.
On April 27, A panel of seven community members from diverse professional and personal backgrounds narrowed 48 exceptionally cool nominees down to 10 winners, two each from five categories that reflect Cool Space Locator's ideals.
Here's an overview of the winners. The following pages detail the stories behind the spaces and people that make the Pittsburgh region's walkable neighborhoods cool.
