Cool Space Awards 2005

Sun King Interactive Group
Uptown
Located in a formerly vacant building at 1905 Boulevard of the Allies.  "Because of this building, everyone loves to come to work.  No cubicles.  No design parameters for an individual's space.  No parking problems.  Plenty of natural light for everyone.  This space is cool because it doesn't try to be.  It's in an old neighborhood where the pseudo-hip aren't tripping over one another.  Real people live and work here."

True Café & Bartini
Northside
A smoke-free café by day and martini bar by night, located in a restored building at 900 Western Avenue.  The owner, "driven by a passion for the historic neighborhood and a vision of its future prosperity, dreamt of creating an urban oasis, a place where city dwellers could gather day or night."  He and 16 investors, many of them friends and family, bought the four-story building and did just that.
Urban Mountain Gathering Place
Mt. Washington
A meeting place with a view, located in the back of the Presbyterian Church of Mt. Washington at 213 Bailey Avenue.  The UMGP "is at the top of the world with a mission to bring people together, inspire them with a view and fine accommodations, and spread good works to its community; all proceeds from rentals go to programs that benefit the Mt. Washington community."
