Skyline Pittsburgh, The Exhibit Place
McKees Rocks
A trade show marketing firm located in a 50 year old warehouse at 56 Sexton Road. During renovations, the owners decided to keep "daylight in many spaces by stealing light from glass block windows and using clear ceiling tiles to bring the light into what would otherwise be dark rooms." (Note that later in 2005, the space has been awarded the Energy Star Small Business and Congregations Network Award.) |

Society for Contemporary Craft (SCC)
Strip Distrcit
The nonprofit arts institution is located in the eastern end of the Fruit Auction Terminal at 2100 Smallman Street , originally constructed in 1926 by the Pennsylvania Railroad. SCC is comprised of two exhibition galleries, a retail store of artist-made works, an education center with three large working studio spaces, administrative offices, and an art-handling annex complete with a loading dock. |

Soho Invention, Inc.
Uptown
A communications design firm located in a former Elks Hall at 1940 Fifth Avenue. When the building was purchased in 2002, their owners' goal was to help revitalize the neighborhood and complete the architectural integrity of their corner (in keeping with two large well-preserved buildings next door). The space now features office space, studio space, a fully-equipped woodshop, and two large rented apartments. |

The SouthSide Works Development
South Side
A
new 110 acre mixed-use redevelopment project at the former LTV Steel Mill site along the Monongahela River. Made up of retail, commercial, and residential spaces located between 26th and 29th streets, the goal of the project was to build a place in order to retain young people in the Pittsburgh area. |

South Side
Located in converted urban warehouse space in the Terminal Building. "All furnishings in SPRINGBOARD's office are on wheels or skids to allow for change; the office is easily reconfigurable for project teaming and collaboration." |

St. John's Convent
South Side
A former convent now home to Renaissance 3 Architects and the South Side Local Development Company located at 48 South 14th Street. "The open floor plan, large interior glazed panels and use of contemporary building materials in juxtaposition with the original architectural elements of the building resulted in a dynamic and fun work environment that was reflective of the firm's culture."
